Reasons
to use our
Services for
authentication

Due to the prevalence of forgeries and fake autographs in this field, it is nearly impossible to sell a signature without third-party certification. Buyers cannot simply trust that they are receiving an authentic product from a seller. Sellers understand the importance of increasing the value of their items by having them authenticated. However, when it comes to the question of which company provides the best authentication, experts are not always unanimous in their assessments.

In addition, our Services utilizes the latest technology to enhance the security of every product, helping to prevent counterfeiting. We offer tamper-evident encapsulation holders that cannot be accessed without breaking the seal. This ensures that once sealed, buyers can trust they are receiving an authentic product that meets Services' standards. Our certificates can only be applied to an item once, and any attempt to remove them will be visibly detectable.

Letter of Authenticity

Letter
of Authenticity

Enhance the value and appeal of your autographed collectible with our Letter of Authenticity (LOA). Highly regarded by collectors, dealers, and hobbyists, the LOA is awarded to items that successfully pass our rigorous authentication process. It is recognized by all major auction houses nationwide and is considered the gold standard for validating and showcasing your cherished item or listing it for sale.

The Letter of Authenticity includes a detailed inset image of the item and is signed by an autograph expert in the presence of a licensed notary public. It also provides additional customized details such as the number of signatures, manufacturer, type of writing instrument used, and item type/model. A certification label is applied to either the item or the letter, based on your preference, with the matching certification number appearing on the LOA. For items estimated value exceeding $200, our Letter of Authenticity is a required part of the authentication process.

Authenticity

Letter of Opinion (LOO)

This is a rejection letter indicating that the autograph did not meet the standards set by our experts. The Letter of Opinion (LOO) reflects the consensus of our experts that the authenticity of the autograph is questionable. The LOO also outlines specific reasons for this conclusion, highlighting any inconsistencies or irregularities detected in the signature

Clubhouse Letter (CH)

At times, autographed memorabilia may be signed by someone else without any malicious intent. These individuals, known as “ghost signers,” can include batboys, secretaries, clubhouse staff, or even family members signing on behalf of the intended signer. To distinguish between these non-malicious (ghost-signed) signatures and genuine autographs, we provides a customized "Clubhouse" letter, clearly identifying the difference

Inconclusive Letter (INC)

In rare instances, determining the authenticity of an autograph may be inconclusive. Even after thorough examination, our authenticators may be unable to reach a confident consensus, and therefore, no definitive opinion can be provided. If your item falls into this category, we will issue a credit voucher for the full authentication fee, which can be applied to a future submission

Witnessed
Protection
Program (WPP)

Promoters and dealers appreciate our Witnessed Protection Program (WPP) for its unmatched level of signature verification. Representative personally witnesses the athlete or celebrity signing at shows, conventions, and events, ensuring the authenticity of each signature. This eyewitness process eliminates any doubt, providing confidence that the items you buy and sell are genuinely signed.

If an item with WPP certification loses its registration card, you will need to either upgrade to a Letter of Authenticity (LOA) to maintain the witnessed certification or replace the witnessed label with our Basic Certification.

Grading

Elevate the value of your striking signature with our Graded Letter of Authenticity (LOA). All signatures that meet our authentication criteria are eligible for this LOA upgrade, which provides a more in-depth assessment of the autograph's condition. Key factors considered in this evaluation include contrast, signature strength, placement, as well as any streaking, smudging, creasing, stains, or tears on the item.
